ACCREDITED DELEGATES are the national officers, 2 representatives from
each provincial council, 2 representatives from each diocesan council,
honorary life members, and life members. Completed and signed
credential forms must be sent to National Office.
All other CWL members are non-accredited attendees at national
convention.

The Opening and Closing Masses will be held at
St. Joseph's Basilica
(10044-113 Street),
a healthy ten-block walk (approx. 25 min) from the convention centre
and the hotel.
Busing will be available (purchase tickets when registering).
Sunday August 12 - EUCHARISTIC CELEBRATION & OFFICIAL OPENING

Following evening Mass and the official Opening, there will be a
RECEPTION for all in O'Leary Hall at St. Joseph's Basilica.
Daily spiritual programs will be held at the Convention site, Hall D of
the
Shaw
Conference Centre.
Monday and Tuesday morning Mass will be at 8:30-9:30am in Hall D at the
Shaw.
Monday and Tuesday evening Prayer Room will be open 7:00-10:00pm, with
Rosary at 9:30pm in the
Consulate
Room at The Westin.

Speaker Information
Dr. Chantal Beauvais, Rector,
St. Paul University
Dr. Beauvais is the first woman rector of St. Paul University. She
leads with faith, energy and a sense of daring. She is a vibrant
speaker who will share her thoughts on spiritual poverty and the need
for women leaders.
Carl Hétu, National Director of
CNEWA
Mr. Hetu will describe the life of Christians in the Holy Land. The
Catholic Near East Welfare Association (CNEWA) supports Christians in
the Holy Land. The national executive of the CWL will launch an
international poverty project for the Holy Land, via CNEWA.
Edmonton Centennial Events
The year 2012 marks
the 100th anniversary of the Catholic Women's League's existence in
Canada.

The Convention is located in the heart of
Edmonton,
close to hotels, restaurants, shopping and tourist attractions.

The airport is half-an-hour's drive south of Edmonton. There is a
shuttle bus from the
airport to downtown. Taxis will cost about $50-$60.

Edmonton Transit Service (ETS)

City buses, plus light rail transit (LRT) serving the University of
Alberta, north and south Edmonton |
ETS has light rail transit with park-and-rides from south Edmonton's
Centennial Park station and north Edmonton's Clareview or Belvedere
stations.
Travel time is approximately 12 minutes to the downtown Churchill
station which is a block from The Westin and three blocks from the
Shaw.

Red Arrow coaches offer
regular scheduled service
between Edmonton, Red Deer, Calgary, Fort McMurray, and Lethbridge.
Service is also provided from the Calgary
airport (YYC) if delegates are flying into Calgary and need to get to
Edmonton.
Delegates travelling to Edmonton for the
convention
receive a 15% discount off regular fares when using the special booking
process,
as outlined in the letter (linked above).

The Convention Planning Committee has secured 100 x 3-day passes for
the parking lot at the base of the Shaw Conference Centre.
These are available on a first-come, first-served basis via Gilberte
<cwlabmk@cwl.ab.ca>. At a cost of $30 for the pass
(Mon/Tues/Wed),
this is a steal-of-a-deal for downtown parking. Note that in-out
privileges are included, but the passes do not allow for overnight
parking.
This parking lot is free on Sunday, for those attending the Resolutions
Dialogue and visiting the Exhibits.
**NOTE:
The Shaw Conference Centre
experience flooding on the lower level due to Edmonton's heavy rains
this summer!
Renovations are under way, and access
from the lower level to Hall D on the upper level may be limited at
times.
Be prepared to walk the stairs up the
hill on the west side of the Shaw to enter from the terrace.

Daily rate is approx. $22/day or $2.50 per
half hour. Sunday $1 for the first 3 hours, $2.50 per half hour

The Impark lot under Canada Place has by far the most convenient access
to the Shaw Conference Centre, Hall D.
Enter from 97 Street, and go straight through the raised parking arm
after picking up a ticket.
At the far end, turn right, and the doors to the Shaw and Hall D are in
the south west corner of the parkade.
Hall D is on the same level as the entry level of this parking lot.
There is access to the Canada Place food court from the same entrance
to the Shaw:

Canadian Soup Company is open especially for CWL convention attendees
on Sunday August 12 from 12 noon to 5:00pm.
Come for a quick, nutritious, and
reasonably-priced lunch or supper. Bring along the coupons found in
your registration/ticket package.
The coupons are good for Sunday, too! Access
on Sunday is via the Shaw, through the doors to Canada Place that are
near Hall D.
