Convention Information
The 92nd Annual National Convention of The Catholic Women's League of Canada will be held in Edmonton, Alberta
August 12-15, 2012 at The Westin Edmonton hotel and the Shaw Conference Centre.

EARLY BIRD REGISTRATION: For registrations received by May 31, 2012, names will be entered into a draw for a registration and banquet refund.

Eucharistic Celebrations
The Opening and Closing Masses will be held at St. Joseph's Basilica (10044-113 Street),
a healthy ten-block walk from the convention centre and the hotel.
Bussing will be available (purchase tickets when registering).
Daily spiritual programs will be held at the Convention site, Hall D of the Shaw Conference Centre.

SATURDAY August 11: To honour the local centennial celebrations marking this year's convention,
the Saturday evening special event will be held at historic | Fort Edmonton (ticketed event) |

SUNDAY August 12: Morning bus tour (ticketed event) to the brand-new | St. Joseph Seminary / Newman Theological College | and | Muttart Conservatory
Following evening Mass and the official Opening, there will be a Reception for all (at St. Joseph's Basilica parish hall)

MONDAY August 13: Luncheons for each Standing Committee (ticketed event at the Shaw | SCC luncheon rooms diagram |)
and the Monday evening special event will re-enact the festive nature of a Penny Carnival! (ticketed event at The Westin Edmonton hotel ballroom)

TUESDAY August 14: Life Members luncheon (ticketed event at the Shaw | SCC Riverview Room diagram |)
Province Night - sign up in the Registration area and watch for info on your Province's restaurant selection.
(Alberta convention-goers NOTE: Alberta Night will be in the ballroom at The Westin. Watch for pre-purchase tickets info.)

WEDNESDAY August 15: Honourary Life Members luncheon (by invitation at the Shaw)
Pre-banquet gathering (by invitation at the Shaw)
Banquet for all attendees and spouses/guests (ticketed event at the Shaw | Hall D |)

THURSDAY August 16: Bus tour (ticketed event) to the | Ukrainian Cultural Heritage Village |

The year 2012 marks the 100th anniversary of the Catholic Women's League's existence in Canada.
Edmonton is known as "the cradle of the League" in Canada, with the first CWL meeting having been held here on November 13, 1912.
The National Council of the CWL was established in Montreal in 1920.

The Convention is located in the heart of Edmonton, close to hotels, restaurants, shopping and tourist attractions.
